15.- WINERY

This industry in Chile is booming and is quite advanced for how young it is. Interns will be helping with many aspects, mostly depending on the time of year they are there (e.g. the "crush" is March – May, for example, bottling is in July and August, etc) Remember that these positions will be at the wineries which are located in the valley area near to Vina del Mar and Valparaiso, not in the downtown living areas –30 – 40 minute bus ride, and the winery will pay for monthly bus passes.

16.- MEDICAL / HEALTH CARE INTERNSHIPS

There are two Sectors that we have been able to open up in Chile under

"health care":

  1. Medical / Paramedic / Nursing
  2. Physical Therapy / Rehabilitation / Kinesiology

Chile has two systems of healthcare – a private system and a public system. Within the public system is where we are able to place interns with health care backgrounds. It is here that their studies and their budding knowledge and their desire to help others can be delivered the most effectively, and to a great extent to a largely underserved population who needs it most. We can place candidates in Hospitals and in Emergency Room settings. There are also places where candidates who have not yet finished, or perhaps who have not yet quite decided on this field, can be placed. In both, candidates will be able to observe and assist those who are working hands on, directly with patients.

Within rehab and physical therapy, in Chile known primarily as "Kinesiologia" we have several institutions that will accept our candidates and that offer the ability for them to experience this growing sector first hand in an international setting.

17.- RADIO STATION
Radio stations in Chile are extremely relevant socially, not just to entertain, but also to communicate trends and news both nationally and internationally.

The intern will be involved in a dynamic atmosphere with a diverse range of tasks under the supervision of a news or journalist Director. For this internship much responsibility is required, as the work completed by the intern will be dispersed into the community. The intern can become involved in different areas, based on their skill set, desires and ongoing projects. For example: programming, news, radio 'controller', interviews and publicity. This is a solid work experience assignment.

High intermediate level of Spanish required.

Note: if you want to intern in a sector you don't see here, and if you give us enough lead time - say 60 - 90 days advance notice we can make an effort to find a company in your desired sector or field.
