Work in Finance & Investment Firms
Finance interns are placed in private equity and investment firms, as well as finance departments of larger companies and privately owned asset managers. In Barcelona and Madrid, past interns have worked within chartered accountant firms, supporting existing teams and contributing to ongoing projects in a support role throughout their program.
Work in Import & Export
Import and export placements involve working with companies that either bring products into a country for sale or export products to other markets. Past interns have worked on market research, business strategy development, and process improvement within organizations operating across international markets in Spain and Latin America.
Work in Accounting & Financial Operations
Some interns have been placed in accounting and financial support roles within organizations across different sectors. In one placement, a past intern assisted with day-to-day financial transactions at a film institute in Madrid, including recording payments and supporting the finance team’s operations.
Work in Agricultural Business
Agricultural business is a growing and internationally relevant field, covering areas such as food certification and inspection, and compliance solutions for farmers, food processors, and restaurants. This placement is currently only available in Scotland.

How the Application Process Works
1. Apply Online
Fill out our simple online application. There is no fee to apply, and it takes only a few minutes to get started.
2. Get on the Calendar
Eligible candidates receive a link to schedule a free, first interview by phone or Google Meet. Send in your resume and current photo before your interview to secure your spot
3. Interview
We’ll learn about your background, areas of interest, Spanish level, and goals so we can start building the right placement for you.
4. Interview Results
Within 1–2 business days, you will receive your interview results by email. Successful candidates receive an acceptance letter with clear next steps.
5. Confirmation
Confirm your spot within one week of acceptance with a confirmation fee. This means there is no tire-kicking, and you are committed to going abroad. A second interview and full placement details follow soon after.
6. Pre-Departure
Once confirmed, you will receive a comprehensive Pre-Departure Information Packet with everything you need to prepare for your time abroad, including visa guidance if required, along with cultural prep.

What Can I expect as an International Business Intern Abroad?
Business internships include Accounting and Auditing, Finance, Banking/Financial, Consulting and Agricultural Business – all fall into this category. While our interns are accepted in this field in nearly every city where we have international internship programs. Accounting can be difficult to place, much like Human Resources, due to confidentiality issues and constantly changing tax and income laws.
Finance interns will work in private equity and investment firms, never in a bank setting. Business internships in our Barcelona and Madrid program choose from finance departments of larger companies to working within privately owned asset managers and “chartered accountants” (CPAs). Typically interns are in support roles within existing teams or projects for their time abroad.
Agricultural Business is booming – think Food Certification & Inspection, Compliance solutions for farmers, food processors and restaurants. This field is extremely relevant internationally right now and this placement is only available in Scotland.

Pricing for Business or International Business internships depend on where you will be participating in the internship and how long you will be abroad.
