Study Abroad FAQs
How long can I study abroad with Adelante Abroad?
Our study abroad programs are all different, with some programs only available for 3 weeks and other programs available for a full semester abroad. Whether you’re looking for a short summer study abroad program or a longer semester abroad experience, Adelante Abroad has options to fit your schedule and academic needs. We have 3 week summer study abroad programs, one month long programs, and semester long programs.
Who is eligible to apply for Adelante study abroad programs?
Most study abroad programs are open to current university students, recent graduates, and gap year participants. Specific eligibility requirements may vary by program, but applicants should have a strong academic record, a passion for cultural immersion, and in some cases, basic language skills.
Do I earn academic credit while studying abroad?
Yes! Many of our semester abroad programs and summer study abroad programs include the option to earn academic credit that can often transfer back to your home university. We recommend confirming credit transfer policies with your academic advisor before applying. A few of our shorter programs will earn you a certificate of completion along with Spanish speaking improvement.
How much does it cost to study abroad?
Our programs are designed to be some of the most affordable study abroad programs available. Prices vary depending on the destination and program length, but we include housing, on-site support, and cultural activities in the cost. Short-term summer study abroad programs generally cost less than semester abroad programs, making them a great budget-friendly option.
Is housing included in the program?
Yes. All of our study abroad programs include pre-arranged housing. Depending on the location, you may live in a shared apartment with other students or in a homestay with a local family. This provides a safe, supportive environment and enhances your cultural immersion abroad.
Do I need to know a foreign language to study abroad?
Not necessarily. Many of our study abroad programs in Scotland and Spain offer courses in English. For programs in Latin America (Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Uruguay), some Spanish knowledge is helpful, but we offer beginner-friendly options as well. Studying abroad is also one of the best ways to improve your language skills naturally.
How do I apply for a study abroad program?
Applying is simple. You can browse our study abroad programs by location (Scotland, Spain, Chile) and by length (summer or semester). Once you find the program that fits, complete an online application and our admissions team will guide you through the next steps.
