In order to maximize the value of our programs to our participants, Adelante makes financial commitments on your behalf prior to the program start date. Accordingly, we have instituted this limited cancellation policy in line with current international education provider standards.
All cancellations must be signed and submitted in writing by email or mail. Phone cancellations are not accepted. No refunds will be made other than those specified below.
All program prices cover the entire cost of what is included in our offerings. There are no hidden fees. We negotiate group discounts, sign contracts with host universities, language academies, and businesses, and we use all local facilities, which lets us offer a quality education and work experience abroad for the lowest possible price.
Adelante is a business creating a customized program based on your application and your requests, and we will enforce our cancellation policy. Because of the international nature of our programs, with two teams working across two continents, much of the work on each candidate’s file is completed well before program payment is due.
Fees and Deposits
A $325 USD Confirmation Fee is required to confirm your placement. This fee is nonrefundable.
If you never pay any portion of the Program Fee, your Confirmation Fee remains valid for one year from the date of payment and may be applied to a program starting within that period. After one year, it expires.
If you pay any portion of the Program Fee, you become eligible for a Lifetime Credit, and your Confirmation Fee will be included in the value of that credit rather than expiring at the one-year mark.
Any Program Fee Deposit is nonrefundable, but is included in the value of a Lifetime Credit.
Full program payment is due no later than 45 days prior to your program start date.
Payment Terms
In the event that you do not pay the Program Fee by the date communicated to you via email and/or as set out on our website, we reserve the right to charge a late payment fee equal to 2.5% of the invoice total. Late fees that are paid are not added to a Lifetime Credit or included in refunds under any circumstances.
You are responsible for paying all and any charges imposed by third parties including, without limitation, PayPal fees, Stripe transaction fees, foreign transaction fees, and wire transfer fees. If you underpay any amounts due to us as a result of such charges, any shortfall shall be payable by you at the time of paying any remaining balance to us.
In the event that you make partial payments toward your Program Fee and fail to pay the outstanding balance due to us, your Program will be deemed as being canceled by you (including, without limitation, any airport transfers and/or accommodation) and any payments that you have made to us will be converted to a Lifetime Credit.
Program Changes and Extensions
Changes to your program (dates, destination, placement type) requested more than 3 months (90 days) before your start date are accommodated at no charge, subject to availability.
Any Program changes or extensions are made at our sole discretion and cannot be guaranteed. Changes and extensions will incur associated program change fees or additional duration-related program fees, each with separate associated due dates.
Cancellation by the Candidate
- More than 90 days before start date: Eligible for a refund of program fees minus the deposit and confirmation fee. Alternatively, all program fees may be held as a Lifetime Credit, with the deposit and Confirmation Fee included in the credit value.
- 90 days to 31 days before start date: Partial refund and/or Lifetime Credit depending on circumstances. Circumstances will be individually evaluated by the Adelante team at their discretion.
- 30 days or less before start date: The candidate is responsible for 100% of the program fee.
Cancellation or Non-Placement by Adelante
If we are unable to place you in your Plan A or Plan B, all program fees will be refunded (excluding the Confirmation Fee) or may be held as a Lifetime Credit (including the Confirmation Fee).
If Adelante must cancel your program for any reason, all program fees will be refunded (excluding the Confirmation Fee) or may be held as a Lifetime Credit (including the Confirmation Fee).
Lifetime Credit Terms
A Lifetime Credit is held in the amount paid at the time it was issued. Program fees are subject to change with annual price adjustments, so a Lifetime Credit may not cover the full cost of the same program in a future year. If the program price has increased, you are responsible for paying the difference. For example, if your credit is $4,500 and the program costs $5,000 at the time you redeem it, you would pay the remaining $500.
- The credit may be applied to any Adelante program type.
- The credit is fully transferable to another accepted applicant of the program who is a friend or family member.
- A Lifetime Credit has no cash value and cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash or any other means of compensation.
After the Program Begins
Once the program begins, no refunds are granted for meals, housing, tuition, excursions, or activities unused by a candidate due to absence or any other reason.
Only the housing deposit is refundable at the conclusion of the program, subject to the landlord’s confirmation of no damages or charges.
I represent that all of the above information is true and is given to induce my placement as an intern in the International Internship Program. I authorize ADELANTE, LLC, to make such investigations as necessary, including contacting references.
I have read and agree to the terms and conditions stated above, the literature, and all of ADELANTE’s policies, including those related to health and safety, participation conduct, and refunds.
