This program was perfect for me, and it was a great way to get to know a new city. It made the transition to living in another place as easy as it really could be — finding me housing, an internship, and contacts within the city that could answer any questions or help show me around. The internship was a fantastic fit, which really showed how much Adelante listened to what I wanted from the experience, as well as they attention they payed to what skills

Volunteering in Oaxaca was one of the best experiences of my life. My program helped me interact with indigenous Master artisans who taught me many valuable lessons about Oaxaca’s culture and about their indigenous heritage. Oaxaca itself is a very rich source of cultural knowledge and colorful experiences. Everyone was very warm and helpful at my volunteer organization and they guided me throughout my volunteering experience. Adelante also did a great job at finding very centralized housing options, and providing guidance and suggestions for my time

My Madrid summer with Adelante was amazing. As a graduate student, I was worried that this program wouldn’t be rigorous enough for me but I am happy to say I was wrong. My internship was so practical and, unlike in the U.S., I was given responsibility on projects and trusted with complex tasks that were presented to clients. My Spanish also improved more than I expected it to and now I feel comfortable talking to any Spanish speaker! Part of what drew me to Adelante is

I had an awesome time with Adelante! This was my first time in Europe and they definitely helped me have a great time. All the staff that I talked to were super helpful, both while I was applying and during my stay. The housing was awesome. I was living right in the center of the city, which was incredible, there was so much to do nearby. I worked for a financial consulting company that analyzed the US stock market. I didn’t know anything about the market

Uruguay is a place like no other. I may have come here at the wrong time of year (it’s winter), but if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have been able to work at a place that really enjoy. I’m a college student, and most internships that are out there for people at this level just have you shredding papers and getting coffee. At [my internship] I got the polar opposite. They had me observing classes, working with teachers, running workshops, and substitute teaching. I actually have teaching

I would participate in another Adelante program if given the chance. The program was extremely affordable in comparison to the others available and yet in comparing my experience with friends who choose other programs, Adelante never felt like a cookie-cutter experience. It is true that it didn’t have as many excursions or trips, but I preferred the independence to explore the culture on my own. I was able to make my own experience and that was more rewarding then going on a packaged tour.

“I enjoyed my time in Barcelona very much. I was ecstatic to get there and start. When I first started it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every minute of it. I have made some dear friends. I can say I will be back in Barcelona. I would recommend Adelante. Without them, none of this would have been possible. Spain in general is beautiful, but Barcelona has to be my favorite. It has everything. From mountains, oceans, beaches, forests, etc. They have the
