Take on a Sports Internship Abroad and gain work experience with the pros
Adelante Abroad’s international sports internships abroad program is targeted at sports enthusiasts – candidates may choose to intern for a team (through a sports management internship) or inside the world of sports marketing, community relations and sports broadcasting. The team placements are within Futbol (Soccer), first and second division teams, and Baloncesto (Basketball), first division teams.
These sports internships are highly sought after, so our goal is to get our internship candidates in the door at the stadium. Then, you may be doing a variety of things: assisting practices, working in the marketing department, helping with journalism & translation work or being a summer camp counselor at a sports summer camp with kids.
The private sector sports internship placements are usually working with companies that use players or sports teams to market products or events. Here, our interns market, organize, translate, help with publicity, etc. If you see yourself working in the world of sports, this program is for you!

The more experience you have in your chosen sectors and better Spanish language level, the easier it is for us to place you.
Will a sports internship make a difference for my career in sports management?
Absolutely! Think of your sports international internship as a stepping stone to the career of your dreams. While many students use their college and university years to just complete their degree requirements, you are taking the time to get real life, hands on experience where it matters most. When jobs see previous experience, like an internship abroad, they are easily impressed and tend to hire applicants who have done work in the field before.
Can I receive academic credit for a sports internship abroad?

All students will need to coordinate with their university’s internship office or academic advisor to see what requirements are needed to be met while participating in their internship.
Why should I get a sports internship abroad?
Sports internships abroad will allow you to get hands on experience in your specific field of interest (no getting coffee for your boss). What will I do during a sports internship abroad?
